License Protection
A common problem for a Microsoft Dynamics AX ISV is protection of their Intellectual
Properties (IP). Microsoft Dynamics AX does not provide an ISV with the possibility
to protect their software from use without a valid license.
Here at ProISV we have created our own License Protection System to protect the
IP of ProISV solutions. The system works by locking any ProISV AX.NET license to
a specific Microsoft Dynamics AX license, and thereby building on top of the Microsoft
Dynamics AX license system.v
The License Protection System is build using the strong public-key encryption RSA,
and is therefore practical impossible to break.
We have extended the License Protection System to provide ISV’s building on AX.NET
the same security and protection that ProISV has. The ISV License Protection works
by requiring AX.NET Licenses to not only be digital signed by ProISV, but also the
ISV themselves.
If an ISV has activated the License Protection System, all AX.NET Licenses used
to access the ISV’s software have to come from the ISV. The ISV can therefore be
sure that there is no unauthorized use of their software, and as an extra bonus
they are guaranteed to receive all AX.NET License sales.
